How to Prepare Print-Ready Artwork
Follow these four essential prepress rules to guarantee razor-sharp registration and accurate color rendition on our Heidelberg presses.
Color Space: CMYK & Pantone Only
All digital files must be created in CMYK color mode (ISO Coated v2 or Fogra 39). Files submitted in RGB or HEX will automatically convert, which can cause unexpected color desaturation on press.
Bleed & Safe Margins
Include a 3mm (0.125 inch) bleed on all trimmed sides. Ensure all critical text, logos, and barcodes remain inside a 5mm safe zone from the cut line to prevent clipping during guillotine trimming.
Resolution: 300 DPI at 100% Scale
All embedded raster graphics, photos, and background images must have an effective resolution of 300 to 350 DPI. Images pulled from web browsers (72 DPI) will appear pixelated when printed on offset presses.
Typography: Convert Fonts to Curves
Convert all typefaces to curves or vector outlines (CorelDraw: Ctrl+Q, Illustrator: Ctrl+Shift+O). If supplying PDF files, ensure all fonts are 100% embedded to avoid system font substitution.
